Messaging & Acceptable Use Policy

Last updated October 2, 2026

1. Consent

Only text people who have given you permission — for example by texting you first, requesting information, or agreeing on a form or verbally. Marketing texts require prior express written consent. Keep records of consent.

2. Opt-outs

Every conversation must honor STOP, UNSUBSCRIBE, CANCEL, END and QUIT. Callata automatically blocks texting to anyone who opts out until they reply START. Include opt-out language in your first message to a new contact and in marketing messages.

3. Business texting registration

US carriers require businesses to register their brand and messaging use case (10DLC) before texting from local numbers. Messages from unregistered businesses may be filtered or blocked. Provide accurate registration information.

4. Prohibited content

No spam, phishing, illegal products, hate, harassment, sexual content, or content carriers prohibit (including many high-risk financial offers such as payday loans, debt relief, and cash-offer or lending solicitations without appropriate registration). No attempts to evade filtering, such as snowshoeing across numbers or URL shorteners that hide destinations.

5. AI calls and texts

AI agents disclose that they're AI. Outbound AI calls require the recipient's prior express consent and are limited to 8am–9pm. Don't use AI agents for debt collection, political calls, or any use prohibited by law.

6. Enforcement

We may block messages, suspend numbers, or close accounts that violate this policy or carrier rules, and cooperate with carrier investigations.
